where cousins become friends.
My husband and I have been in Upstate NY for the past few days, working on our VRBO rental house to get it ready for the busy summer season. And as beautiful as it is here...I miss that happy house in VA, where our grandkids so often come to gather: where cousins become friends. Even though our yard there is the size of a postage stamp, and we have no breathtaking views to look at (not counting their precious faces, that is!), I love it so much.
It is a slice of Heaven up here, though. No doubt about it. And I can’t wait for the week in July when our gang will be gathering with us for our annual Pearl family vacation here by the lake.
We head back home to VA today, where most (but not all) of our people are, for a few more weeks, and then we’ll come back to NY for the summer.
Life is good today.
You are truly blessed! I hope to have a home near my grandkids some day as well as a house near the water. Your grandkids ate precious!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth. Yes, we are SO blessed. When our guys moved away, after growing up in NH, what are the odds that 3 of them would end up in th he same area of VA? If not for that, we probably would have stayed in NH, or maybe retired to NY, and we would have had to spend our whole life on the road to see them. This is so much better!
DeleteOne day my dream is to rent your house with my own big family. You make it look so fun!!
ReplyDeleteYou mean the Oyster Haven lake house? Oh, you would love it! It's like having your own little private oasis: a huge grassy back yard with woods on either side leading down to a private beach in a protected cove. People rent it thinking they're going to do all the the touristy things in the area, and they end up spending their whole week relaxing at the house, boating and swimming, and playing in the yard. 😊
DeleteJuat beautiful!!!
